The WSWA has announced the results of its 2025 Wine & Spirits Tasting Competition. Five Blanco Tequilas made the final round. Below is a brief description and tasting notes on the finalists.
El Diamante del Cielo Blanco Tequila, 40% ABV, 750 ml. NOM 1472 $40
El Diamante del Cielo is a premium Tequila brand. It uses 100% blue agave from the Tequila Valley to produce small-batch Tequilas, emphasizing the agave's true essence. The Blanco is the most straightforward expression, showcasing the agave in its purest form. It’s bright and fresh on the nose, with vibrant agave aromas complemented by hints of lime and lemon zest and a subtle pepper and herbal undertone. It’s clean and crisp on the palate with a smooth mouthfeel and flavors of agave, lime, a touch of green apple, and a slight spice note. The finish is clean and crisp, with a lingering agave and citrus aftertaste and a subtle spicy note.
